Mobile caravan tyre help where the vehicle is parked

A caravan tyre problem can appear on the drive, at a storage facility, on a pitch or during a journey. British Mobile Tyres checks an independent fitter network for someone able to assess the tyre and arrange a safe repair or replacement where appropriate.

Caravan tyre problems need more than a car-tyre assumption

Caravan tyres can spend long periods carrying load while stationary. Age, pressure loss, cracking, flat spots and sidewall damage therefore matter alongside tread depth. A tyre that looks acceptable from a distance may still need closer inspection before another journey.

Send the full size plus load and speed markings from the sidewall. If the caravan has twin axles, identify which wheel is affected. Photographs of the tyre, wheel and parking position can help the initial availability check.

Home, storage-site and journey assistance

Mobile attendance may be useful when moving the caravan would be inconvenient or unsafe. Homes and storage sites need sufficient access for the fitter’s vehicle and a firm, level working area. On campsites, check the operator’s rules before arranging work.

If the caravan is stopped beside a live road or in another exposed position, prioritise personal safety and contact the emergency services or breakdown provider. Tyre work should only begin in a protected area with adequate clearance.

Repair or replacement

A slow leak may come from a puncture, valve or wheel-sealing problem, but not every tyre is repairable. Damage near the shoulder or sidewall, structural deterioration, excessive age or running while deflated can make replacement the safer outcome. The attending independent fitter assesses this at the vehicle.

Caravan-specific questions

Planning a mobile caravan tyre visit

Can a caravan tyre be changed at a storage facility?

Often, provided the operator allows the work and there is firm, level access with enough room for the fitter and equipment.

Do you need the tyre load rating?

Yes. Send all markings visible on the sidewall because the replacement must be appropriate for the caravan’s requirements.

Can an old but unused-looking caravan tyre stay in service?

Appearance alone is not enough. Age, cracking, deformation, previous storage and manufacturer guidance should be considered by a competent tyre professional.

Can a sidewall puncture be repaired?

Sidewall and shoulder damage normally makes a conventional puncture repair unsuitable. The fitter must inspect the tyre before deciding.

Can you attend a caravan on a campsite pitch?

Possibly, subject to campsite permission, vehicle access, ground stability and suitable fitter availability.

Is attendance time guaranteed?

No. The estimate depends on the location, tyre stock, traffic, site access and current demand, and is confirmed before booking.
